Bandai Namco Entertainment, or simply Bandai Namco, is a video game publishing company based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Bandai Namco Entertainment is responsible for publishing all current Little Nightmares games as well as their DLCs.
Overview
Bandai Namco was formed on March 21, 2006. Bandai Namco is known for having published several multi-million dollar games, such as Pac-Man and Dark Souls.[1]
History with the Little Nightmares franchise
In 2017, Bandai Namco worked with Tarsier Studios to publish the first Little Nightmares game in the series. They would also go on to publish the Secrets of the Maw DLC.
In May of 2019, Bandai Namco partnered with Alike Studio to produce the mobile game Very Little Nightmares.
In early 2021, Bandai Namco partnered with Plastiek in order to produce the Little Nightmares Comics app, which consists of six different episodes.
In 2021, Bandai Namco once again partnered with Tarsier Studios and published Little Nightmares II. They also published The Nome's Attic DLC.
In 2023, Bandai Namco partnered with Supermassive Games and is now producing Little Nightmares III. The game is planned to release in 2025.
Promotion
Bandai Namco has published many pieces of product merchandise for the series, such as shirts, jackets, hats, toys, and console-related paraphernalia. Some Little Nightmares-related products are promoted by Bandai's EP!C Rewards Club.
Bandai also promotes updates on the series via social media, amongst other games that they publish.
In 2017, Bandai produced a series of paper-crafts in order to promote the first game, which were accompanied by their own stories posted to their official YouTube.
Trivia
- Shortly after the release of Little Nightmares II, Tarsier Studios announced that they would be stepping down from producing games for the series.[2] After disgruntled fans took to Twitter to voice their disappointment, the official Little Nightmares account responded by hinting that this would not be the end of the series.[3] In August of 2023, Little Nightmares III was announced, confirming Bandai Namco is continuing the series without Tarsier.
