Descent to Nowhere is a comic series that began release in October 2025. The comics tells of two parallel stories, one set in the Counties and one set in the Nowhere. The series is set to release a total of four issues.[1]

Website Description[]

"Winter’s come early this year. In a dark cell in a cold dungeon, a child awakens. On a lone bridge over a bleak river, a detective wavers. The fight for their lives has begun. The silent child, with her tattered shift and bandaged arm, shivers as the hissing snow falls from an unseen sky through the central shaft of her prison. She is not the only captive here; the echoed sobs and hushed whimpers from the other cages tell her that much. The lost detective, wreathed in fog, looks back on a life lived in the shadow of silence and stifled by the apathy of others. She steps up onto the stone wall dividing the bridge from the river below. She is not the only victim of this aggravated entropy; she’ll soon learn that from the unexpected footsteps behind her."[3]

Plot[]

A mute timid girl named Hush, wakes up in a cold jail cell where she encounters Mono. Although the two are hesitant towards one another, they must learn to work together to escape the cold labyrinth like dungeon they are in. In the Counties, a detective named Myra Wan has grown disillusioned with life, exhausted from living in a city where everyone ignores the strange darkness and depravity around them. Myra stands at the edge of a bridge, planning to end life on her own terms. Over the years, the Counties has developed numerous cold cases surrounding various missing children, all of which haunt the minds of everyone in the Counties, Myra decides to take on these cases after meeting a naïve officer, Marion Guy, whose blind resolve convinces her to try one last time to make a difference. They begin their investigation where they can, the children, the little ones who vanish year after year without a trace. Though Hush and the detective’s seem realities apart, the connection between them is more puzzling and unnerving than even the worst of dreams could conjure.

Trivia[]

  • Aside from the Nowhere, the story is also centered around the Counties, the same location The Sounds of Nightmares mainly took place. A link between the Nowhere and the Counties will be explored.

Hush heavily resembles the design of a child from a cancelled Little Nightmares comic. The Italian artist Alberto Pagliaro, who was originally recruited to draw the pages of the comic, has since deleted the only picture of the comics existence from his Instagram, upon the comics cancellation. While the story of the comic remained unknown, the now deleted page had originally depicted the child trapped within a location similar to a prison patrolled by guard-like Residents. While the child remained trapped in a cell, the cell next to them harbored another child similar in appearance to Mono, who watched the child trip a Resident through the use of a broken pipe, resulting in the Resident accidentally destroying a television nearby.
    • It was revealed in the 2025 "Little Nightmares showcase event" that Mono would be included in the Descent to Nowhere comic's plot, traveling alongside Hush.
