Mr. and Mrs. Kay are characters repeatedly mentioned throughout the Descent to Nowhere comic series. They are Hush's parents.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Mr. Kay is a tall man with short brunette hair and a beard. He wears a white shirt with short sleeves and black pants.

Mrs. Kay is an adult woman with blonde shoulder-lenght hair and red lipstick. She wears a white short-sleeved top with a golden necklace around her neck. She also wears a pink skirt.

Personality[]

While not much is known about the Kays, they were shown to favor their son over Hush, spoiling the son but keeping the daughter in a small room where she spent most of her days. The Kay's were presumably greedy and ran a shady business, as Mr. Kay sold numerous properties all over the Counties, including everything Mrs. Kay's father left her in inheritance, even willing to keep his clients names unlisted.

Story[]

Descent to Nowhere[]

Issue 1[]

As newly resigned detective Myra Wan is packing her office up, her partner for investigating the Milk Carton Cases, Marion Guy, walks in the room to inform her on a lead he got on a child who had vanished from the Counties Psychiatric Institute the previous night. He hands over a family photo of Mr. and Mrs. Kay with their two kids.

Issue 2[]

While investigating Hush's disappearance, Myra and Marion visit the Copy, where they meet nurse Akedia. The nurse tells them about Mr. and Mrs. Kay, saying that Mr. Kay had fallen victim to the Sleep around a month before the accident at Mrs. Kay's Estate. She also says that Mrs. Kay also caught the Sleep on the day Hush and her brother were trampled by horses.

Myra and Marion decide to investigate Mrs. Kay's Estate, where they find out she was the daughter of Dayton Du Maurier of Du Maurier Racetracks. They figure out she grew up at the Estate.

Later, they go to Josef Kay's apartment, where they scroll through paperwork of all the things he sold all over the Counties. Marion discovers that Josef had sold everything Mrs. Kay's father left her. After investigating the apartment, they conclude that Mr. and Mrs. Kay heavily preferred their son to Hush.

Issue 3[]

After digging through Josef's property sales, Marion discovers that he owned a section of the Counties Psychiatric Institute, Floor -1 . He shows Myra the papers, adding that Josef had sold the floor to an unlisted buyer years prior.
