Chapter 8[]

After Feast was thrown into a ball pit by the Puppets, Ruse jumped in after him. During her rescue, she soon came to realize that there was something massive in there with her. While in the depths of the bit, something large brushed against her, and so she stayed very still until it left.

Later, after guiding Feast onto the wall's netting and breaking the surface, she noticed the creature near the end of the pit. Then, something large brushed against her foot. The creature suddenly grabs onto her, and despite her best efforts, she couldn't seem to free herself. It tried drag her down, and after a long struggle, it let go. It then grabbed onto the netting on the wall and tried to drag it down instead. Ruse was caught up in the receding netting, but Feast pulled her free.

During another confrontation with the Puppets, Ruse knocks one of them into the pit. It is instantly engulfed by the creature, followed by a geyser that ejected his head, torso, and limbs.
