Little Nightmares Wiki

The Sounds of Nightmares is an audio-fiction series produced by Bandai Namco Europe. The series tells the story of a young girl named Noone who struggles with a nightmare-related disorder.

Description

Noone, a timid young girl, is committed to The Counties Psychiatric Institute due to her ever-worsening nightmare disorder. She is placed under the care of The Counsellor who has dedicated his life to helping kids overcome their ailments, himself a product of childhood trauma. As their sessions unfold, The Counsellor's past and Noone's nightmares are destined to collide.

Chapters

Chapter Description
Chapter 1: The Workers in the Walls Noone and The Counsellor meet for the first time. Noone details her nightmare in The Stone Giant and the horrors she witnessed within it.
Chapter 2: A Penance at the Bathhouse Noone details her dream about her visit to The Bathhouse and her encounter with The Candleman.
Chapter 3: The Theater of the Mind Noone explores an abandoned shopping mall where not all is as it seems.
Chapter 4: Two of a Kind Noone describes her journey through a carnival where she meets a group of children who are determined to escape their enslavement.
Chapter 5: A Deluge of the Inevitable Noone attempts to help The Counsellor see into her dream where she explores the sewer with a little friend.
Chapter 6: The Lonely Way The Counsellor makes one final attempt to enter The Nowhere with Noone.

Characters

  • Noone - One of the main protagonists of the story. A young girl who is admitted to the Counties Psychiatric Institute in order to cure herself of her recent chronic and all too realistic nightmares.
  • The Counsellor - One of the protagonists, and later deuteragonist of the story. A psychiatrist named Otto who attempts to help Noone overcome her nightmares while battling his own internal conflict over the loss of his sister Cici and her mysterious disappearance.
  • The Candleman - The main antagonist of the story, also known as the Ferryman. A Resident who stalks Noone throughout the story and tries to manipulate her into staying in the Nowhere.
  • The Workers - A group of Residents from chapter one that appear as child-like shadows, they act as workers inside of the Stone Giant.
  • Cici - The Counsellor's long lost older sister, her disappearance in the past has remained a mystery for many years. Cici had spoken to Otto about her own personal encounters with the Ferryman before her disappearance.
  • The Prisoners - A group of characters in chapter one, imprisoned inside of the Stone Giant.
  • The Tall Woman - The main antagonist of the first chapter. A Resident who serves as the keeper of the Stone Giant.
  • Jester - A child that Noone befriends during the second chapter.
  • The Bathers - A group of bloated Residents in chapter two, they venture to the Bathhouse in an attempt to wash away their sin.
  • The Merchants - A group of Residents who work as merchants in the seaside village located in front of the Bathhouse.
  • The Shopping Mall - The main setting and antagonist of the third chapter. It is a sentient structure that desperately tries to impress Noone in order to keep her from leaving.
  • The Counsellor's Professor - A minor character the Counsellor talks about, he was the first to come up with the theory on the existence of the Nowhere. He was marked as a fool and insane for proposing the existence of another world.
  • Rehabilitated Children - A group of children that were rehabilitated from the Psychiatric Institute. They appear briefly at the beginning of the fourth chapter.
  • The Performing Children - A group of teenagers that appear during the fourth chapter. They are forced to preform at the Carnival.
    • Rusty - One of the teenagers that befriends Noone. He tries to enlist her in his plans to escape the Carnival.
  • The Man in the Purple Suit - One of two main antagonists of the fourth chapter. A Resident who captures children and forces them to perform at the Carnival.
  • The Dummy - One of two main antagonists of the fourth chapter. A Resident who is a living ventriloquist dummy seen sitting on the Man in the Purple Suit's lap.
  • The Carnival People - Numerous Residents who attend the Carnival show where the children preform.
  • The Naughty Kids - A group of children that serve as supporting antagonists of the fifth chapter. They enjoy observing the misery of those unfortunate enough to be trapped in the Sewer.
  • Nomes - A group of small creatures that appear during the fifth chapter. Noone befriends one of them and attempts to protect them from the monsters in the Sewer.
  • The Balloon-Headed Man - The main antagonist of the fifth chapter. He wanders around the Sewer finding treasures to hoard in his storage room.
  • The Perfect Lady - The main antagonist of the dream-recounting portion of the final chapter. She is a mannequin-like Resident that Noone encounters in the Clothing Room.
  • Ethan - A child patient of the Counties Psychiatric Institute that briefly appears at the end of the final chapter.
